...Happy 16th Birthday!

Veronica, can it be that my little sister is such a lady? I so remember the day you entered my world! There is so much to love in you...the sugar and spice that you sprinkle all around, your piety, your fidelity, your perseverance and determination. Thank you for being my sister, my goddaughter, and my friend. I love you!

Happy "16th" Birthday Veronica!!!
I can't believe it!!
Time flies, all those memories and fun filled times...
God most certainly has blessed you abundantly!
You are such a lovely sixteen year old!
I love you!!

Mary Rose

P.S. Claire, the dresses in the photos marked as "joyful and "happy 16th birthday" are so lovely. If you don't mind my asking; where did you find them?
Blessings,
Mary Rose

Happy 16th birthday Veronica! I love the old-fashioned dresses? Are they yours, or were you just trying them on?

I can't believe how everyone is growing up so fast...Zachary starting his culinary arts degree, Jordan starting high school, Abby starting middle school...and I have one more semester of college!! So amazing...I'm definitely enjoying these "growing up years" though.

Make sure to check out my blog...I just posted pictures of my new apartment! I wish you could come visit sometime!

Love your bosom friend,
Malori

PS Thanks so much for the letter! I am planning on writing back soon! :)

Veronica: You're welcome! I shall trust it made up for last year's neglect of a birthday post (which you were so vigilant at reminding me of during the past 12 months). ;)

Claire: Thank you, I will! (Isn't she photogenic, though?).

Vicki: One simple technique: mini claw clips! :) They make any updo a relative breeze. After doing her hair, I just broke the rose stem off to about 1 inch, tucked it under a section and secured it with one or two little clips.

Hannah: Thanks! I'm glad you like the photos! I had a lot of fun going through files of pictuse and selecting them. :)

Mary Rose: I am so proud of you...I think this is your second-ever comment on my blog! =) (And since I think I may have never responded to the first, thank you for both of them!). It's such a treat to hear from you. Give a hug to your mom from us (and one to yourself!).

Oh, and the old-fashioned dresses are both thrift store finds (yes, really!). I tend to have an "artistic eye" and when I do make it to the thrift store -- once every few months -- I'll sometimes come home with a find like this. We've had these two for a few years in the closet, and they probably cost just a few dollars each. Our Lady has blessed us numerous times in our findings! (Unfortunately, all the old-fashioned dresses tend to be very petite in cut, and so perfect for one like Veronica, but not for one like me...at least I get the joy of seeing her wear my finds, though!).

Malori: I know, it's amazing how quickly everyone is growing up, isn't it? Yes, I do so wish I could visit you soon, although I suppose right now the virtual apartment tour is the closest I'll get... :)

Oops! Sorry, Clare: I added a letter to your name. My fingers a bit programmed. :)

What a beautiful birthday tribute to your sister and what lovely pictures that truly exemplify what it means to be feminine and modest! Thanks for sharing. I haven't stopped in for a visit in quite some time and have missed reading your post. You provide such encouragement for both moms and daugthers. For moms that we can try to raise our daughters to be feminine and modest with a love for the Lord and their Mother Mary and for daughters that they can look to you as an example to encourage and inspire! Thanks Claire!
